COmpeau Trail II

looking back from the end of the trail over part of what we crossed. Those storm clouds and the ones in the other picture overtook us just as we started heading back. It hailed first, then really started to pour. Between the continuous thunder *KABOOOMboomboomboom* ALL the way back and the muddy switchbacks and heavy runoff...that was the craziest ride I have ever been on. about 2000 feet closer than anyone ever really wants to be to lightning. wow.

There was so much rain that by the tenth mile back it started running down my legs into my boots, i was completly drenched. AND to top it off, in the last mile back, theres a peat bog, crossed it fine comin in. hubby got stuck because of the extra water on the way out, I went ahead and mobbed around the bog to get in front of him and winch him out. On the plus side, the mud was warm still from sitting in the sun all day.
